Santa Cruz City Schools Physical Activities Challenge

The Santa Cruz Police Department joined Bayview and Delaveaga elementary school 5th grade classes for the Physical Activities Challenge on June 6th at Branciforte Middle School.  The Physical Activities Challenge included a basketball shooting contest, a football throwing contest, a soccer kicking contest and a relay race.  Chief Kevin Vogel, Deputy Chief Rick Martinez, Sgt. Mike Harms, Officer Joe Hernandez, Community Service Officers Adam Baker, Reina Romero, Toni Sandoval and Police Volunteer Patti Whitlock officiated the event.  The schools and students did an outstanding job - the team from Bayview Elementary School finished as the Physical Activities Challenge grand champions.  The champs included Aidan Talbot, Anthony Anaya, Juan Diego Arenas and Ismael Torres, all from Mr. Branoff's class.  A special thanks goes out to our Community Services Section including Police Volunteer Patti Whitlock, Sgt. Mike Harms and Officer Joe Hernandez for organizing the event. Here are some photos from the event!
