The Santa Cruz Police Department is preparing for New Year's Eve and will have additional officers on hand throughout the evening to proactively enforce all laws - especially alcohol-related violations. As has been the case in previous years, there will be some minor road closures and a safety enhancement (triple fine) zone in the downtown area. A map of the road closures and zone can be found here.
The safety enhancement zone will be in effect from December 29th at 5:00 pm - January 1st at 5:00 am. We encourage everyone to designate a driver for the evening!
