The Santa Cruz Police Department is asking the public's help in locating a child that appears to have been taken by her mother in violation of a custody agreement. Cassandra Liu, 10 years-old, was last seen with her mother Janice Basiletti, 52 years-old, on Sept. 9, 2012.
The two were staying at a motel in the 1400 block of Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. Per the father, it is not believed that Cassandra is in any sort of physical danger. However, given that there has been no contact with Ms. Basiletti or Cassandra in the last few days the department wanted to distribute the information to the community in an attempt to locate them.
The information has already been provided into state and national law enforcement databases.
The two are believed to be traveling in a 2009 Honda Accord - Dark Gray - Plate 6UAF498
