SCPD Welcomes Two New Academy Graduates

The Santa Cruz Police Department is proud to announce that two former department volunteers, Carly Cross and Koby McCauley, graduated yesterday from the police academy. Police Chief Kevin Vogel, Deputy Chief Steve Clark and officers Carter Jones and David Forbus were on hand to welcome the two newest SCPD officers.

Officers Cross and McCauley applied for the position of police officer last fall.  After completing the pre-employment hiring process, they joined the Santa Cruz Police Department as academy recruits in April.  They spent 23 weeks in the basic police academy at the College of San Mateo and graduated yesterday.  They will start our 18-week field training program on Monday and are expected to complete this program in February, upon which they be able to work as solo police officers.

Here are some photos from the graduation!
