The Oakland
Raiders honored Police and Firefighters yesterday in pregame and halftime
ceremonies.
Our own diehard Raiders fan, Sergeant
Arnold Vasquez and Officer Juan Gallegos represented Santa Cruz Police
Department at the event.
Arnold and Juan got to hang out on the sidelines for a good portion of the game. They even managed
to get a photo with arguably the best NFL referee, Mr. Ed Hochuli, who made a point of coming over to greet our officers...very cool!
I just just hear Arnold trying to convince him to keep the penalty flag in the pocket while the Raiders have the ball.
During the pregame ceremonies, the Raiders paid tribute to fallen officers, featuring Sergeant Butch Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler.
Unfortunately, the game didn't go our way, as the Raiders were shellacked by the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, 49 – 20 !!!

…..nonetheless
Arnold and Juan had a great time, AND this was a very kind and classy gesture from the Silver and Black.
