The Trailer Returns Home
Sergeant Dave Perry arrived at the Santa Cruz Police Department today with the trailer of a thousand tales.
Sergeant Butch Baker's son, Adam drove the SCPD's 1961 Chevy Biscayne escorting Dave into town.
Detective Elizabeth Butler's mother, Louise got a chance to sign the trailer.
Sergeant Perry spoke of the journey and the opportunity to tell the story of the sacrifice made by Sergeant Butch Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler. Dave described it as an emotional and important journey where he felt the camaraderie and presence of his police department family.
SCPD members had the opportunity to sign the trailer and talk individually with Dave.
Once Again, Sergeant Perry has honored us all with his service. We are blessed to have him as part of our family!
This amazing story continues..........

Sergeant Dave Perry and A Cross Country Tour to Honor Their Memory
Sergeant Dave Perry has been the embodiment of Honor, Courage
and Commitment throughout all the years of his service. After retiring in July of this year, Dave
found a way to combine two of his passions
Cars and Police Work
For the past several years, Dave has been pouring his
heart and soul into a custom rebuild of a 1958 Ford Ranchero, literally from
the ground up. This thing is one amazing
show car!!!
The project was done in time for his retirement and Dave
embarked on a cross country trip to honor the memory of his fallen comrades,
Sergeant Butch Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler.
Dave has met with police representatives from all over
the country.
He has stopped, visited and
photographed the custom trailer being towed with his truck in front of a number
of national landmarks.
They even let him on the track at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee
Dave also
competed in a number of car shows taking home a trunk full of trophies.
On Thursday, Dave will be back in Santa Cruz with his car
and trailer and of course his stories of sites seen and new friends made.
Dave will be here on Thursday October 3rd at
around 11:00 AM. We look forward to
seeing him and hearing the tales.
Here are just a few more photos of his journey.
