I would like to thank the community for their support, cooperation and patience during a tense and dangerous situation on Monday, November 29. This incident caused uncertainty, unease and inconvenience, but our absolute priority during this incident was the safety of the community. This was especially true in light of two schools being in the immediate vicinity of this incident. Our department worked to provide current information to the public, and facilitate access for parents wanting to pick up their children from schools.
The community’s help was essential in making our task easier and bringing this situation to a successful conclusion. Many went out of their way to support our efforts as well as your fellow neighbors.
Our commitment to you is that we will maintain a well-trained department ready to safely address threats to public safety. Thank you for your support, I am proud of our community and department’s response.
