Arrest Made in Westside Tire Slashing/Vandalism Cases!

On February 27, 2012 the Santa Cruz Police Department Property Crimes Unit, with the assistance of the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office, obtained a felony arrest warrant for Daniel O’Reilly. The $100,000 arrest warrant is for felony vandalism and was brought about from DNA obtained at the scene. Santa Cruz Police Investigators had submitted DNA from the scene to state DOJ for analysis and obtained a match to Mr. O’Reilly.

On February 24, 2011, Daniel O’Reilly was arrested on multiple charges, including felony possession of a dangerous weapon, by the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office. This arrest was unrelated to our case. Santa Cruz Police Investigators learned of his arrest and interviewed Mr. O’Reilly at the County Jail. He was subsequently arrested on our cases for felony vandalism the warrant.
