Online Crime Reporting - February Overview

In February, Santa Cruz residents used the SCPD online crime reporting system 159 times. Approximately half of those cases were for petty theft. Currently, you can use the system for a number of cases in which you don't have suspect information - such as:

• Vehicle Tampering or Vehicle Burglary 
• Petty and Grand Theft
• Identity Theft
• Lost Property
• Vandalism and a few other options. 

The most common usage of the system is for theft (petty and grand) and vehicle burglary. Depending upon the month between 10-15% of reports are filed online.
