The Teen Public Safety Academy will begin this summer for local teens between the ages of 14-18. Learn what it takes to
be a Police Officer and Firefighter with the City of Santa Cruz. Academy Recruits will engage in a daily
physical fitness program, learn basic self defense tactics, and be introduced
to arrest and control techniques. They
will also learn Basic Investigative Techniques, including Crime Scene
Investigation and Evidence Processing.
Recruits will also receive instruction on fire department operations and
learn basic firefighting principles and emergency medical treatment, including
first aid and CPR.
Session 1 is June 18-22
Session 2 is July 9-13
Session 3 is August 13-17
