The Santa Cruz Police Department was awarded $37,125 from the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance through the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program. The JAG Program provides local governments
with critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas including front line
law enforcement, gang enforcement and technological
improvements. The department is awaiting final approval from the Bureau of Justice Assistance on our proposal to expend the funds on two fully-outfitted and marked patrol cars. The vehicles would replace older cars in the department's fleet. Final approval is expected in the new fiscal year (sometime within the next six weeks).
