Emergency Services Unit Participates in Best in the West Competition

The Santa Cruz Police Department Emergency Services Unit (ESU) is participating in the annual Best in the West competition - held yesterday and today in Santa Clara.The two-day event, attracting top S.W.A.T. teams from California, Washington, Arizona and Nevada, requires teams to compete in seven events including The Jungle Trail, The Sniper Course, and a Live Fire House in which real ammunition is used. The total points earned in each event are combined to determine which S.W.A.T. team is the “Best In The West”.
