SCPD is Going Solar

The Santa Cruz Police Department is in the process of installing solar panels in the back parking lot to power the building. The project, done concurrently with solar improvements at City Hall, is intended to reduce the cost of power at the department and become more environmentally friendly. The goal is to have the project completed by the beginning of next year. Once completed the solar panels will be mounted across the entire parking lot (similar in appearance to a carport).
