On Monday, August 20, 2018, at approximately 6:42 pm, Santa Cruz Police Officers responded to the area of 2nd and Main St for a report of a possible fight involving a male and a female. Multiple people called to report the incident, one person reported the male party had a woman by the throat and was pulling her into the vehicle. Another person reported the driver was assaulting the female in the car.
The vehicle was located on Ocean St near Water St. An officer attempted to stop the car, the driver refused to pull over and fled from the officer. The driver drove on to Market St. The driver accelerated to a speed eventually pulling away from the Santa Cruz Police Officer. The officer lost sight of the car momentarily and found the vehicle had driven off the road in the area of Market St and Stoney Creek.
All the occupants left the vehicle and fled from the scene into the surrounding neighborhood and creek. With the assistance of the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office, the four occupants were located. All four occupants were uncooperative regarding the initial call, why they fled from the officers and denied a domestic disturbance occurred.
INVOLVED SUBJECTS:
1. Juvenile Male (driver) 17 years old
2. Israel Flores 22 years old, Parole Hold
3. Juvenile Female 17 years old
4. Alyssa Bradley 20 years old
All occupants were arrested for the public Intoxication & Delaying a Police Officer. One of the occupants was injured in the crash and was treated at the hospital.
