Santa Cruz Police Invites You and Your Kids to Ice Cream with a Cop & Coffee with a Cop on August 7, 2018

This coming Tuesday, August 7, the Santa Cruz Police Department invites everyone in the community to come out to one of two locations to enjoy an ice cream treat or coffee on us and meet their neighborhood officers. In the morning, Santa Cruz Police serves up Coffee with a Cop to bring community members and police together in informal setting to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.

In an effort to reach kids and adults alike, Santa Cruz Police Department offers Ice Cream with a Cop, a spin-off of Coffee with a Cop, but for kids. Ice Cream with a Cop aims to bridge relationships between local police officers and kids in a fun venue designed to build trust and friendships. Each child will receive a free ice cream cone or cup!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Coffee with a Cop event this morning. Also, a big thank you to The Buttery for welcoming us to come chat with patrons! The coffee was fantastic, and the pastries delicious!

We had a nice turnout today from community members who stopped by to enjoy a cup of coffee and some one-on-one conversation with Chief Vogel or one of the several officers.

Officers and community members spoke informally about many topics which concern neighbors right now. The discourse and viewpoints amongst neighbors were interesting and varied.

Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in City of Santa Cruz neighborhoods.

What a great turnout for SCPD's inaugural Coffee with a Cop! Thank you to everyone who attended this morning! #SantaCruzPolice enjoyed the conversations and coffee at Java Junction on River St. & HWY 1.

There’s nothing more important than to simply get to know each other better. It was a good morning discussing whatever concerns, suggestions and questions community members had with SCPD Officers about the neighborhoods in which they live. Thank you to all who came by for a chat or to say a quick hello. We appreciate your support.
