SCPD Receives Dept. of Justice Grant

The Santa Cruz Police Department received approximately $40,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice for the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). The JAG Program, administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), is the leading source of federal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. The JAG Program provides local governments with critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas including law enforcement, prevention, planning, and technology improvements. The funding allows our agency to purchase items (like police vehicles, investigative equipment and more) we wouldn't normally be able to replace or afford in this budget climate.
